Officials reported that turbulence struck a Qatar Airways flight en route from Doha to Dublin on Sunday, resulting in the injuries of twelve passengers.
Dublin Airport officials issued a statement indicating that the flight QR107, which arrived in Dublin shortly before 1 p.m. local time, encountered turbulence while in flight over Turkey. Emergency personnel, including airport police and fire and rescue, greeted the aircraft.
A total of six passengers and six personnel members reported injuries sustained during the flight.
The statement stated that the Dublin Airport team continues to offer comprehensive support to airline personnel and passengers on the ground.
The airport did not furnish information regarding the severity of the injuries.
This occurred subsequent to the severe turbulence that struck a Singapore Airlines flight with 211 passengers and 18 crew members in the Irrawaddy basin last week, causing the passengers and cargo to be thrown about the cabin. A 73-year-old British man passed away from a suspected heart attack, and numerous passengers and crew members sustained injuries, some of which were life-threatening. An investigation is currently in progress.
